x" at the end) so the install will not touch it. If doing a fresh install of a program, I temporarily rename the that programs library folder on my Daw Library drive, (usually just adding a ". I have customized my libraries with add-on packs and renaming Preset folder, etc, so I do NOT want to have any of that changed. Very good for backing up the OS drive without all the library stuff. My backup program (Easus Todo) detects symlinks and the option to follow and included that data in the backup is 'unchecked' by default. Windows acts as if the folder is still there for most purposes. and then don't need it for a while (a feature ALL programs that add context items should be lawfully required to have!)Ģ) Right-click on folder and choose "Pick Link Source"ģ) Right-click where the folder USED to be and choose "Drop as.Ĥ) Choose the type of link you want to make (I use "Symbolic Link" for almost everything) It has a option to add/remove from the right-click context menu in Windows, which is handy when you use it a lot.

It can be done manually, but i love having this program: If they don't ask for the location, you can use Symlinking. (And some well-known installers with large preset packs that don't give an option for installing another place- hahha ) Some do not, but even small factory synth libraries can become large when you add a bunch of wavetables and preset packs. Most DAW programs with large libraries these days will ask for the location of the library folder if you move it. I had a couple of the Toontrack drum kits not show up or complain about update and was fixed by moving offending drum directory up a level removing the Toontrack original directory structure. Also used this process for waves instrument data folder as well. Have used this same process for data folders of Sampletank v.4 (including Syntronik) and Toontrack EZ (Superior) Drums data. Just make sure your data folders are completely copied into the right place before you refresh instrument browser. In my case only had to patch the newly installed dll in my DAW. The key to success is to install latest version of Omnisphere plug-in (in my case NOT the steam folder) to configure it's settings. Since the dll files (keyscape, omnisphere) are previously cracked (in ProgramsData directory) from the original install they are already patched and keyscape worked as well. Then I authorize the plugin in the vst location (DAW) and use the refresh button in Omnisphere and everything worked as before.
